Systematic Theology - Lesson 7.1 - The Doctrine of Providence

Nov 16, 2025    Pastor Shane Sibley

In this lesson, we explore the biblical truth that God is not a distant Creator but an active, sovereign Lord who continually sustains, directs, and governs His creation. The doctrine of providence reminds us that every event—great or small—unfolds under God’s wise and purposeful control. We’ll study how Scripture reveals His ongoing work through preservation, concurrence, and government, and how His sovereignty coexists with human responsibility. Through examples like Joseph, Job, and the cross of Christ, we’ll see how even human sin and suffering are woven into God’s redemptive plan for His glory and our good.
